Some films can’t be explained, and sometimes, we don’t know if we want to know what’s really going on. Sometimes, it’s enough just to admire the view and move on. Japanese vixen Ai Matsubara appears in one such film, the cult classic House (1977), in which she plays the nerdy character Gari/Prof, one of seven students who have adventures in a haunted manor. This brain certainly has beauty when she desperately swims in a room filling with water, a red light making everything just a bit creepier than necessary. We also have the benefit of an underwater camera, which captures Ai’s long legs, fine ass, and tiny breasts, all bare and writhing with the rising water. In addition, there’s strange chuckling, odd camera angles, and an infra-red type still. Admiring. Moving on. For her next role, the long-limbed lass traded in the nerd vibe for an athletic one when she portrayed a tennis player in the mystery, sci-fi movie The Visitor in the Eye (1977), aka Visitor to the Pupil’s Center. Ai is best known, however, for her role as Roku in the blockbuster television mini-seriesShogun (1980) with Richard Chamberlain. The production won three Primetime Emmy Awards, including one for Outstanding Limited Series; it was nominated for 11 others. It also nabbed three Golden Globes, one for Best Television Series – Drama, and won Favorite TV Mini-Series at the People’s Choice Awards.
