A stand up comic gets mixed up with the mob in the British mini-series Comics (1993). Johnny Lazar (Tim Guinee) is a second-rate stand up comic in New York City whose drug and alcohol problems have irreparably damaged his career. He decides a change of scenery is his best option and relocates to England for a fresh start. But on his first day in London, he witnesses a gangland killing and becomes embroiled in a murder investigation. Now the cops and the mob are hot on his trail, and he still needs to deal with his own personal demons.Before her rise to fame on Game of Thrones, Michelle Fairley was making other things rise with her nude debut in this mini-series.
