Things were looking pretty dismal for skin this week on DVD and Blu-ray, but then the SKINstant classics Hostel (2005) and Hostel: Part II (2007) swooped in on Blu-ray to save the day with a bevy of naked Euro babes (and Heather Matarazzo, aka "Weiner Dog", fully nude in Part II, if that's your thing). Other than that, your only choice for nudes this week is French fox Vahina Giocante topless alongside non-nude stars Jennifer Tilly and Paz de la Huerta in the ensemble rom-com 30 Beats (2012). And this week in non-nude blockbusters, Malin Akerman goes '80s crazy in Rock of Ages (2012) and Charlize Theron and Noomi Rapace are out of this world in the sci-fi head scratcher Prometheus (2012):
Hostel (2005) sounds a lot like "hostile", but in fact means an inexpensive inn or place of lodging. But as this gory horror picture defines it, hostel is more hostile, featuring a bunch of young ugly Americans yahooing their way across Europe until sadists abduct them. They were just looking for a good time. Thankfully before all the bloody chainsaw action, they (and we) get in some nice sightseeing. Two unknowns, Jana Kaderabkova and Barbara Nedeljakova, are caught undressing. But there's tons of anonymous nudity as the boys make their hedonist way across the continent, including some full-frontal nudity and even photos of pussy lips that are lip-smacking good. Sadly the high times end with a hangover no hair of the dog can cure.
Eastern Europe remains rough-going for party-hearty American youths in writer-director Eli Roth's splat-tastic horror sequel Hostel: Part II (2007). Whereas the original Hostel followed the ghastly misadventures of three college-age dudes, Part II switches genders and ups the mayhem considerably. Bijou Phillips, Heather Matarazzo, and Lauren German portray coeds who end up in Slovakia where they, then, meet 
variously inventive but uniformly unpleasant ends. Hostel: Part II pays tribute to terrors of the past, both real and cinematic, by casting vintage '70s Euro-vixen Edwige Fenech and Italian cannibal-flick icon Ruggero Deodato in supporting roles, as well as recreating the legend of Countess Elizabeth Bathory with a naked Heather, a naked Monika Malacova, an empty tub, and a series of long, slow, blood-draining cuts. The final series of jolts may seem especially cruel to male viewers in the wake of the undeniably erotic nudity, but that's only in keeping with the Hostel series' pitch-black prankster spirit.
Follow sexy New Yorkers as they travel from one bone session to the next in 30 Beats (2012). This film segues through each member of the ensemble cast as they meet in a series of linear sexual encounters. And with gorgeous gals like Vahina Giocante, Jennifer Tilly, and Paz de la Huerta headed bedways, there is plenty to keep your attention. Jennifer starts the film out right by rubbing ice into her superhumanly stacked cleavage at the 16-mintue mark, then Paz shows up in a bra and thong to seduce her chiropractor 
into giving her a beef injection at 34-minutes in. But the real revelations come from Vahina and Aliyaah Hashi when they wake up topless with a lucky dude 54 minutes in. You’ll be giving yourself 30 beat-offs!
Quick, what do you get when you combine the hard-partying excess of ‘80s hair metal with the twinkle-toed choreography of Broadway? You get the movie musical Rock of Ages (2012), starring Tom Cruise as heavy-metal guitar god Stacee Jaxx. Diego Boneta and Julianne Hough also star as Drew and Sherrie, two small-town dreamers fresh off the Greyhound bus who make tracks to Hollywood’s Sunset Strip to pursue their dreams of rock stardom. Mr. Skin, however, is dreaming of Malin Akerman, who gives a sexy sneak peek of what’s to come by dancing in her skivvies in the trailer. Rock on, Malin!
A group of scientists excavating an unknown planet uncover some disturbing truths in the sci-fi thriller 
Prometheus (2012). When they arrive, crew members Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and Charlie Holloway (Logan Marshall-Green) begin explore the alien terrain with the help of their android David (Michael Fassbender). Then they run afoul of some hostile parasites, but company representative Meredith Vickers (Charlize Theron) is there to make sure that the exploration continues...no matter what. In space, nobody can hear you scream, which is what you’ll be doing when you realize there is no nudity in this flick. Fortunately Noomi keeps things sexy by appearing in her bra and panties at the 8-minute mark and at the 13-minute mark, and Hall-of-Famer Charlize shows up in her skivvies 12-minutes in to do some provocative push-ups.
