Queen Elizabeth II died yesterday after living for 96 years in the global public eye. The Queen is the only British monarch that most of us have ever known (unless you're 100 years old or something?) and she has had the longest reign of any British monarch in history. And that's A LOT of history. She actually had the second-longest running reign of any ruler in history with her 70-year reign (Louis XIV of France comes in first with 72 years).
She certainly made history, but so did the beautiful actresses who dared to play Queen Elizabeth. Elizabeth became queen when she was in her early 20s and Claire Foy shows us the youthful queen going from a playful girl to a powerful Monarch in the very popular Netflix series The Crown. Olivia Colman
Olivia Colman has played a couple of British monarchs. While her performance as Queen Anne in The Favourite earned her an Oscar, her performance as Elizabeth in The Crown earned her both an Emmy and a Golden Globe.
