Robert Altman's Nashville (1975) is a sprawling portrait of America in the mid-'70s as encapsulated over a few days and a score of characters in Tennessee's 'ho-down capital. It follows the director's famous structureless dramatic style, and his usual cavalcade of kooks appear, including Shelley Duvall, Elliott Gould and Karen Black. But it's relative newcomer Gwen Welles who makes this movie a real honky-tonk. She has the long film's sole skin scene, and it's enough to make you yell "Yee-ha!" Regardless of whether you're partial to country music or not, you'll lasso your bucking bronco after watching Gwen hit the stage and get nude.
