Shameless (1995)

We’ve witnessed a lot of shamelessness going on in the entertainment industry. There’s the long-running British TV series Shameless (2004-2013), followed by the equally-successful American reboot Shameless (2011-2021) as well as the hit Czech sitcom Shameless (2008). Perhaps that’s why the U.K. film Shameless (1995) also goes by the title Mad Dogs and Englishmen — not to be confused with Joe Cocker’s same-named documentary from 1971. Henry Cole’s R rated flick offers a dark and probing look at the dangers and degradations that go needle in arm with narcotics. The addictive drama features a stunning young Elizabeth Hurley as Antonia Dyer, an uncompromisingly corrupted British heiress whose dalliance with the devil drug lands her tossed in a cold river and left for dead. In other words, she’s a heroine who uses heroin. Mike Stone (C. Thomas Howell) is the grungy American biker who takes a detour into Antonia’s shameless downward spiral. Along the way, we encounter Tony Vernon-Smith (Jeremy Brett), a drug lord for high society addicts, as well as Inspector Sam Stringer (Joss Ackland) and his wife (Claire Bloom). The movie also includes Cheryl Doll, Christopher Adamson, Nicola Duffett, Paula Hamilton, and views of Ms. Hurley’s nude hoots! During a sex scene, the built brunette bares her beautiful breasts while she gets Mr. Stone rock hard! As an extra-added bone-us, a bird named Sandy (Louise Delamere) also flashes her rack.
