Shirley Rumierk is a Harvard grad—and that’s not even the most impressive thing about her. The daughter of a Puerto Rican mother and a Colombian father, she grew up in Hell’s Kitchen in New York City, and headed to the Ivy League to study economics; she found it boring and switched to Hispanic Studies. She also decided to try her hand at acting, something she always wanted to do. Shirley debuted on Broadway in Latinologues, directed by Cheech Marin, and was on her way. The brunette babe has appeared in several big-screen projects, including as jeanette in Gun Hill Road (2011) with Esai Morales, as a young mom in Fugly! (2014) with John Leguizamo, and as Simon’s wife in Collateral Beauty (2016) with Will Smith and Kate Winslet. She also wrote, produced and starred in her own short film And Then There Was Luz (2013). On television, she’s snagged a bunch of pop-ups in series like The Good Wife, White Collar, Ugly Betty, Law & Order (a few different versions), Elementary, and Chicago P.D., and held recurring or starring roles as Maggie in the web series East WillyB from 2011-2013; Vanessa Suarez in NBC’s primetime Rise in 2018, where she got a rise out of us for having a passionate make-out sesh in her bra and undies; as Autumn Cox in NBC’s primetime series Manifest 2018-2019; playing Yolanda Carrion in Netflix series Teenage Bounty Hunters in 2020; and as Dr. Ullman in the HBO mini-series Scenes from a Marriage (2021) with Jessica Chastain.
