As Long As There's Nudity And Action, It's All Good

While it’s a little hard to believe the gritty, black and white comic book turned movieSin Cityis over ten years old, it’s true. Personally I can remember marveling at the look of the film, the characters, and the world Frank Miller, Robert Rodriguez, and Quentin Tarantino created, and of course the really awesome nudity. Well, hold on to your leather chaps because it appears that Sin City is coming soon to a television near you.

It would appear the 2005 film—and maybe some bits and pieces from the 2014 sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For—is currently being developed for a television show. According to Deadline this series will be a "far departure from the films, introducing original characters and timelines within the Sin City universe."

Now, I’m not sure what they mean by a “far departure from the films” because there are some pretty awesome characters in the films, played by some pretty hot actresses. Let’s be honest, it’s pretty hard to imagine anything Sin City related without Jessica Alba. And I think we’d all enjoy a little more Eva Green and Rosario Dawson in our lives. Though, I guess if they stay true to the idea of Sin City—gritty violence and nudity—we’ll give it a chance.

I’m willing to see what Glen Mazzara and the Weinsteins are going to do with a Sin City television show, but damn them if it’s on basic cable with PG-13 action and PG nudity. That’s not Sin City, that’s not even close to Sin City. That’s something no one wants to watch.
