Based on the coverage of New York Post reporter Amy Pagnozzi, ABC's The Amy Fisher Story (1993) told a surprisingly well-rounded tale of the tawdry affair that ended up with Mary Jo Buttafuoco getting a bullet in her skull, but somehow surviving. Drew Barrymore plays Fisher, the mixed-up seventeen-year-old lover of burly mechanic Joey Buttafuoco with subtlety that managed to rise above the sensationalism of the ripped-from-the-headlines material. Amy Fisher crashes the car he parents gave her for her birthday, which puts her in contact with the macho mechanic Joey (Tony Denison). She falls in love with him and to her parents dismay keeps denting the car to see him, before just admitting she wants to give that teen ass to Buttafuoco. He obliges despite being in his thirties and married to Mary Jo (Laurie Paton). Unhappy with being just a young mistress, Amy gets a gun and shoots Mary Jo, resulting in a media sensation and Amy's infamous nickname "The Long Island Lolita." If you want to see a young seductress played by Miss Barrymore, you'll have more luck letting Poison Ivy (1992) scratch that itch. But that's not to say that this made for network TV movie about a tantric teen didn't have anything good for you to tug your peen to. Drew can be seen in her bra and panties a few times, while a body double flashes everything she's got in a scene depicting the bedroom tryst between the old man and his hot teen lover. When released on tape, the box bellowed, "Features explicit and uncensored footage not seen in the original television broadcast. Bonus material: additional nude scenes within the movie." That's the kind of package Mr. Skin likes to tear open! With Drew playing the jailbait who served seven years in jail before becoming a porn star, we were hooked on The Amy Fisher Story!
