Albatross (2022)

It’s 1959 in New England and young, progressive, biracial couple Elizabeth (Katherine Gautier) and Thomas (Romaine Waite) are attending a dinner party hosted by an older, upper-class couple, Dr. Lloyd Burke (David Keeley) and his wife Carol (Sarah Orenstein). As well established members of the community and its fancy country club, the Burkes are the perfect perfect couple to help the youthful newbies get accepted into the town’s social structure... or so it seems. But the truth is the older couple’s life together revolves around repressed homosexuality and compromised struggles with love and honesty that are hidden behind the facade of their perfect marriage. Just after an hour into the film, the comely Katherine strips off her clothes for a nighttime swim in her period undergarment with a younger man. It may not be Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? but she’s sure to make you howl!
