Bruce Willis stars as used-car salesman Dwayne Hoover in filmmaker Alan Rudolph's fanciful Kurt Vonnegut adaptation Breakfast of Champions (1999). Hoover gives off the appearance of confidence and success, but he spends every morning attempting to work up the nerve to shoot himself. His wife (Barbara Hershey) is cripplingly addicted to television, his sales manager (Nick Nolte) lives in terror of his own transvestism, and he's having an affair with his secretary (Glenne Headly), who sure fills out a pair of panties nicely. Albert Finney costars as science-fiction scribe Kilgore Trout.
