Day of the Dead (2021)

Day of the Dead is a SyFy Original Series that debuted just before Halloween 2021 in a bid to bring George A. Romero's 1985 film of the same name into the 21st century. Though the series seems to have jettisoned the film's underground military bunker setting, it does retain the notion of strangers being thrown together in an attempt to survive a violent zombie outbreak. Set and filmed in rural Pennsylvania, the show focuses on five main characters: Cam (Keenan Tracey), son of a local police detective and high school senior itching to put this one horse town in his rearview; Luke (Daniel Doheny), son of the town's mayor; Lauren (Natalie Malaika), a mortician's assistant with a wicked sense of humor; Amy (Kristy Dawn Dinsmore), daughter of the town doctor and a life coach; and Sarah (Morgan Holmstrom), a trained Special Forces soldier who currently works on a fracking crew and the woman who discovers the zombie outbreak. With no one to rely on but themselves, especially when the people in charge of the town refuse to acknowledge the oncoming zombie apocalypse, they must band together and learn to rely on one another, lest they all join the ever growing ranks of the living dead! While it's not unheard of for a SyFy series to feature nudity, Day of the Dead didn't get off to a very skinsational start. There is a sexy scene in the series premiere where Natalie Malaika changes in a bathroom and we see her in her bra, but that does it for the time being! Hopefully they can inject some skin into this show and help your little zombie rise from the dead!
