Shōgun (2024-)

FX’s ambitious ten-part miniseries adaptation of the 1975 James Clavell novel tells the story of a lord in 17th century Japan (Hiroyuki Sanada) who allies himself with a marooned English sailor-turned-samurai (Cosmo Jarvis) during the power struggle that followed the death of the reigning Taikō. The original adaptation from 1980 was a huge television event, and this version was not only promised to be as epic as Game of Thrones but also based more in true Japanese culture and containing predominately Japanese actors speaking the language, unlike its predecessor. One thing it definitely has over the original is sexy skin! Nudecomer Yuka Kouri’s cans come out in the very first episode as she’s undressed and gets handsy with a young dude while being watched by his boss. Your shōgun’s sure to go off in your hand while watching!
