Set on a German farm in the summer of 1990, Siegfried (Florian Panzner) and his wife Marianne (Silke Bodenbender) have taken in 18-year-old Maria (Marlene Burow). Maria is estranged from her unemployed mother, who’s husband divorced her to be with a younger woman, but she does visit her occasionally when she’s not reading Dostoevksy or having sex with Siegfried and Marianne’s teenage son Johannes (Cedric Eich). Everything changes when Maria meets Henner (Felix Kramer), a gruff 40-something who runs a neighboring farm. Despite the age difference, the two begin a torrid affair.
