The Third Wish (2005)

Jenna Mattison wrote, produced, and starred in The Third Wish (2005) as Maggie Malone, a San Francisco bookstore clerk with a love life as shabby as her paycheck. One day she comes across an old copy of Great Expectations, and, by dickens, her life's dull plot starts to thicken! Stodgy limey Sean Maguire shows up in her store, British accent and aloof 'tude in tow, and announces himself to be the representative of a mysterious benefactor who wants nothing more than to spend and spend and spend on her. Seriously, this secret chap has deep, deep sacks. Soon Jenna's up to her flapjacks in finery, and she gets some wine-and-dinery from Sean too. Things are looking up for this plucky duck, but will her luck keep up, and who is her behind-the-scenes Daddy Warbucks? The Third Wish is sitcom fluffy, chick-flicky, and light, and the laughs are pretty slight--but Jenna is a redhead fan's henna-tressed, pillow-puckered delight. Aside from her massive smackers, the film's highlight is that her bookstore boss is Betty White.
