Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty (2022-2023)

The HBO series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty debuted in early March, 2022, and tells the unbelievable true story behind the formation of the legendary Los Angeles Lakers team that redefined the NBA in the 1980s. Based on the book "Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s" by Jeff Pearlman, the series stars John C. Reilly as legendary playboy and Lakers owner Jerry Buss, who put together a team that rocked the sport to its core and changed the way professional basketball has been played ever since. The series also introduces us to two rising stars in Quincy Isaiah as Magic Johnson and Solomon Hughes as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the two cornerstones of the team during that era, along with some bigger names like Adrien Brody as coach Pat Riley, Jason Clarke as Jerry West, and Mike Epps as Richard Pryor. The show features constant breaking of the fourth wall by just about every character in the show as they step out of scenes to explain to viewers the ins and outs of the inside basketball talk happening along the way. The debut episode kicked off in spectacular fashion with Reilly waking up in bed with a topless Arielle Reitsma, who shows off her big beautiful breasts, before Reilly strolls through the Playboy Mansion and we see an orgy in progress with dozens of nude extras getting busy!
